Bought this book for my niece because it's beautifully laid out and the words bring peace and perspective in a society that too often sidetracks us. Decided that I needed it, too.
Please note the size of this book. It is about 4 inches by 6 inches. Of course the verse is wonderful as are the pictures but it is cheap probably because it is so small. It makes it difficult to enjoy the pictures.
I saw this beautiful little book in a chic boutique and fell in love. I quickly searched for it on , and was delighted to find it at a much cheaper price, as usual. I wanted the book mostly for aesthetic purposes. It is so pretty and a perfect addition to my coffee table as my living room decor has a lot of red and earthy tones with an asian flair. However, it turns out the books is actually quite pleasant to read. It's perfect to pick up and flip through when I have a moment to reflect on some thoughtful quotes from Buddha. A buyer should be aware of the book's size. It's quite small. Just make sure you read the dimensions before purchasing. I wish it came in a heftier, large coffee table book size.
This book with the Buddha's words is a work of art on every page. It literally has pictures of Tibetan style paintings on every single page. I keep it on my Buddhist shrine, and then even the cover's metallic finish looks like gold and is perfectly breathtaking and inspirational. I wouldn't ever let go of it. To me it is an artistic gem.
I gave this as a gift to someone who loves quotes. It has great pictures and really inspirational quotes.
This is a collection of the Buddhist Dhammapada which are ancient poems that echo the wisdom of Buddha and his teachings. The books illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and depict many ancient Buddhist paintings and artwork in full vivid colors. I highly recommend this to Buddhists and Non-Buddhists alike. The Buddhists can appreciate the translated teachings of the Dhammapada and actually also enjoy the artwork, and Non-Buddhists will also enjoy the spectacular artwork and can casually read the enlightened poems and lessons inspired by the teachings of Buddha.
Perfect size for a small altar and the cover shines slightly so looks beautiful too on display. I've been meditating on a page a day and trying to practice the dharma in everyday encounters. The art is inspiring and really adds to the meaning of the verse
this is a small book, beautifully made. pages are gilded, has a ribbon page marker. nice for coffee table or bedside. as I gave this as gift, I did not read it all. it looks like a good version. The Dhammapada is my single favorite book; true wisdom about human thought and actions. my only reservation is that this very same version can be purchased for about half price on .
