The book is written well, with humorous examples, and it is a perfect companion to the Coursera MOOC "Think again: how to reason and argue". It also contains a slew of exercises which help you check and validate your understanding. Those who follow the course will have the correction to the book exercises :)
I am renting this as a textbook for a class I am taking, and it's really good. It's a subject that interests me, so that helps, but it's written well, with excellent examples, so that makes the subject that much easier to understand.
This is the most detailed, thorough introduction to informal logic available, hands down. I took the author's course, as well, and this book helped. I can't recommend it highly enough. Truly excellent!
This well written, dense introduction to informal logic defines arguments and explores the main reasons for them - justification and explanation. This reader enjoyed this fascinating read but only in small spurts for good understanding.
I am taking the class Think again: how to reason and argue. This is the 2nd time I am taking the class I enjoyed it so much. I could not afford the $75 text book but this one I will enjoy reading.

I bought to go with a course, but to be honest I don't think it is that well written or edited. I had troubles sometimes following the sentence structure, which detracted to learning the material.
Great book for those who want to learn how to argue effectively, and understand arguments and what are not arguments.
