This book is the most comprehensive general look at what is what in primate research. The chapters are authored by experts in their particular subject, are usually well written and concise, and contain references to all of the most relevant literature. This book does not have all of the information on every primate species as was commented by a previous reviewer, but that isn't the intention of this book. For that information, a book like the pictorial guide to living primates would be more useful. This book, as a general guide is comprehensive and a must have for primatology students.
This is the most boring book and why did they add references at each page? Why not do it at the end of each chapter? It really disrupts the overall reading.
...for studying primates in general. Well organized, easy to read. I bought it for a class in primatology, and I will be keeping it for future reference.
great book if you are interested in learning all about primates. Students or professionals can still learn a lot by reading some of the chapters.
I hate this book!
interesting
The condition of the book was excellent. It came a little later than was originally estimated but not much later (about 1 day). There is a TON of information in this book. Almost anything you need to know about a certain primate group can be found in this book. However, if you're looking for something about a specific species, the information may be too general. Otherwise, very informative text with good organization.
