I purchased this book on accident alongside another reprint of the same 1911 manual, and had I purchased it alone, I probably would have looked upon it more favorably.Unfavorable Points:The cover is cheesy, and was part of the reason I thought it was the *current* manual (my fault), while the *other* one I got had a more nostalgic cover that was more representative of the contents. The Images looked like poorly photocopied versions of the original, and they looked too much like a cheap attempt at piecing together the book in a layout program (where the other book actually professionally matched the image grays and whites to the rest of the text, making it look more like a real reprint). The book was also much more pricier than the *nicer* version. Had it been less expensive than its better-made counterpart, I probably would not have been as disappointed.Favorable Points:There are more (original) ads in the back of this one than the other version I purchased, so that was nice ... and it DOES include all the pages from the original manual.Overall:I really hate to provide an unfavorable review, but this version of the reproduction is poorly made, has an uglier cover and costs more than the other reproduction of the manual. It doesn't take a whole lot of talent to print copies of public domain or historical material (so I'm not attacking the publisher's writing or artistic abilities), but this reproduction certainly could have been done much better, as its big-publisher competition shows.
