As a Driving instructor, i was expecting a book on "how to drive safely," but it is an excellent considering its purpose. Great book for my son to know what it take to take care of a car. And to also understand how to be careful when he is using the family car. I think every parent should get this book for there young driver.
Fluffy, and lacking any depth whatsoever. I don't see who this book is aimed at, i guess people who only want the most basic of info. I found it of very little use to me. If you want a real book on driving I recommend "Professional Driving Techniques" by J. Scotti.
The Driving Book: Everything New Drivers Know But Don't Know To Ask is an intuitive book that covers a wide range of situations and scenarios a driver might encounter and down to earth, realistic solutions. I am glad I bought the book, but the fact is that having this manual in the car is no help when my teen is behind the wheel, reacting to a situation. After reading through the book, I purchased SimuRide Home Edition which is a driving simulator for beginners, which offers hands on practice dealing with the situations outlined in the book and more. Now, when he hits the road, I really feel like he is ready for just about anything.
I'd love this book because it will tell you facts about cars and patients driving and responsibility.It is just a good book,and Karen,you are a good author!!!!!

Great book for those preparing to get behind the wheel and for those who have many miles under their belt. I would recommend as a great choice for the new driver in your home. BUT, I would not recommend you buy this for your wife if you think she is a bad driver. She will not appreciate it (even if it is a great book).The book is divided into chapters and topics with small scenarios for each situation. Great chapter on necessities one may need in their car.
