I'd maybe give this 4 and 1/2 stars, a lot of these jokes are still very funnyonly some were familiar, but that doesn't mean they aren't funny. The late MiltonBerle was in show business practically since his childhood, even appearing in a few silentfilms. Then came vaudeville, radio, and of course television. Sometimes called "The Thief of Badgags"they may vary with original authorship, but most still work, although my favorites are theinsult gags, and ones to use to answer hecklers. The suggestion for handling a "roast" could come inhandy. The follow-up volume is also worthwhile.
It's a good book and maybe I judge too harshly, but out of the cornucopia of humor here, I got about three dozen really good jokes. Perhaps It's me.
