Great collection of American folk heroes. Too often kids watch TV and are enraptured by the likes of Thor and Ironman. Walter Blair presents a folksy depiction of heroes Americans had before TV like Paul Bunyan, Mike Fink, Davy Crockett, Febold Feboldson and others. I enjoyed this as a kid and enjoy it more as an adult. Well worth the time to read it.

Great stories, well told and humorful. I use the stories in programs that I do for kids. Some of America's best tall tales.
