My son was lost about what to study as a prep for taking his entrance exam. This book was helpful in guiding towards topics he might see on the test. It was also helpful in showing the format for the test. It has several entrance exams in it - making it short on the test he was actually taking. This was the only down side to the test prep book.
This is a great study guide my son is using it to study for his entrance exam which is in one week for cathedral high school in los angeles and it is a great book. The book has practice tests and answer sheets on different pages and it has very useful testing tips on the side columns. I would highly recommend this book!
My son passed his entrance exam with the help of the practice tests from this text. We skipped straight to them and focused on the answers he didn't know as a reference for further studying. It was a great resource for us.
It is a great prep book with lots of examples and practice tests.
Helped our kids immensely. I would suggest to start vocabulary early. That being said, our kids did great on HSPT and received multiple scholarships. (They were pretty good students as well)
