Having worked on a Multicultural Center and traveling the world, because of my military service, I am a strong proponent of multiculturalism. Not just because of the friendships I have made, but because of the enrichment it has provided to my experiences and as a person. This book provides insight to the different ethnicities, nationalities, orientations, and their struggles. My eyes were opened to the struggles of the Asians, that of being stereotyped as being the smartest student in class. I now realize that any stereotype is wrong, because of the pressure that it can bring to a student. This book will be a great read for anyone interested or is working in an institution of higher ed.
An excellent overview of the various cultures that exist on today's campuses. A good read for any new professional or training grad student who is looking to broaden their perspective of the various subcultures that exist in the contemporary and changing higher education environment.
Very informative text. Using it for supplemental information for a required university course. Highly recommend.
Class required text. A quick and cursory review of populations you will find on campuses in America.
The back cover is warped, but everything else is great!
good reading.
A must read!
