As a veteran teacher, the changes I've gone through in my classroom for the last 5 years have been difficult to manage. This book gave me new ideas while combining the concepts my principal wants us to incorporate into our classroom. The charts, checklist and real life scenarios provided new light to methods I was already using without adding the impractical aspect I have found in a lot of the classroom management material out there.
This little book is an easy read explaining learning styles, multilingual, multiculturalclassrooms and how to engineer the classroom to address all of these issues. It emphasizesthe importance of collaboration to gain student success in the classroom with results of a positive learning curve for the school.Joan R.
I just read this book and it was great! As an undergraduate studying education with a special interest in social justice and multiculturalism in the classroom, it was interesting to get this perspective. I hope to use this in the classroom.
Just got this book in the main yesterday. Was looking forward to it but I was disappointed. The book itself has some good ideas but I feel like there was no new content, just summarizing some of the other ideas that are currently out there in one resource. I found that the charts and checklists were not teacher friendly, and I would need to do to much with them to make them useful. If you are just beginning teaching this would be a good book to explain a number of concepts but for the people who have been around for a while, it was just current topics (multiple intelligences, DI, cooperative learning) with a new spin.
