To those negative reviews who are saying "You are what's wrong with America!" or "Our society is crumbling because of this book!" just relax and take a Xanax. Seriously. This book is dripping with satire, and those who miss it also probably don't understand The Colbert Report or Salman Rushdie. Their website is one of the funniest I have ever read, and encourages young women to be exactly who they want to be(yonce). You want to know a book that's ruining "society"? Fifty Shades of Grey (Or, Fifty Shades of the subservient woman).
This is honestly the worst thing I've ever spent money on. I loved the title and the blurb, and I really wanted to love the actual book, but I couldn't. I have a sense of humour, I get satire and sarcasm, I'm part of the generation that the authors are talking to, but this book is ridiculously ignorant. It's not even a little bit smart. It pretty much perpetuates the stereotype that millennial Americans are stupid, self-obsessed, and lazy. The time and money I wasted on this book makes me physically angry.
Worst book I have ever attempted to read. Do not waste your money on this. Terrible, awful, nonsensical, and stupid.
While the Betches are quite funny, I absolutely regret buying this book. I felt like I was lowering my IQ every time I flipped the page. After the first chapter or two, I put it down and have no desire to pick it back up. Total waste of money.
This is definitely a read for someone in their early 20's. I didn't realize this before I purchased. I couldn't make it through the first chapter...
This book was clearly written solely for a white audience...points again to the hidden backpack full of WHITE PRIVILEGE. I am almost insulted I wasted my money purchasing this book. I was turned off as soon as I read "Ever since slavery was abolished there have been few institutionalized ways for rich white people to show how much better they are than everyone..." seriously? no thanks.
This book is a little comical maybe for girls under 18 but is otherwise a waste of brain cells and time. Since when is it smart to eat less so you have to workout less or encourage prescription ADD medications like adderal to eliminate any appetitE or to look so cool that you are "unapproachable".
I was very excited for the book and then I was so disappointed. The intro is very good, but that is as good as it gets. The rest of the book is just about how is it that you are going to succeed in life by being lazy, being drunk 24/7 and how to degrade people by they physical appearance. It tells you that in order to be successful you need to be, skinny, pretty, drunk and use drugs. I am definitely returning the item This is what is wrong with this world.
