I got this as a gift for someone from Boston. The title kind of sums up the books premise.Not being into sports that much, I am surprised that there is so much animosity between the two teams! (o.k., sarcasm!)I think this would be a good book for any Red Sox fan, and the Holidays and/or birthdays are always approaching!NOTICE: I did NOT receive this product for free to make an "unbiased" review. It was o k....as a lifelong redsox fan who lived for a while in Brooklyn, I was anticipating more 'juicy' stuff. The author (in my opinion) settled for an easy story in what could/should be much more "juicy". I will send it on to my oldest son who is a Bosox fan. I am sure ho too will say "where's the beef?"
The title definitely drew me in and every page is humorous and enjoyable. I love how Wasif describes the characteristics of Red Sox and Yankees fans, most of them being quite accurate or at least believable. As a huge, dedicated Red Sox fan, I think this book is a great read.
Perhaps it was my perspective as a Mets fan, but I thought Andy struck precisely the right balance between Red Sox and Yankees fans in this tome. I laughed, I cried, I learned to love again. Not from the book itself, but I think, without question, that it played a key role. Fully recommend this to people who are able to read.
I love the title. My b-i-l is a die hard Yankees fan and I love the Braves and any team beating the Yankees! this is his christmas gift, (he has a good sense of humor)
Bought as a gift for a friend, a Sox fan. He and another mutual friend, a Yankees fan, both had a good laugh.
Would love to review... Ordered on Dec 19th, 2013. It is now March of 2014. The message I keep getting from is that the seller needs more time. Really??? Was supposed to be a Christmas present. My husband's birthday is in November. Maybe it will come in time for that.
