While it doesn't go into enough detail for actual projects I liked it especially for the chapter on mixed media which showed me ideas on mixing acrylic with mediums like oil pastels etc. Just be aware it is an overview not a how to book. As a book on all the possibilities for using acrylics this is great.
This was a Christmas present for my wife who has just started classes for acrylic painting. She loves this book. She has used the book to buy the right paints, equipment and brushes. She takes the book to class and uses the color sections to help get the right shades for her paintings.This book is spiral bound and sturdy. It fits perfectly in he painter's bag and travels with her whenever she paints. As she is developing ideas, she turns to this reference for tips and techniques.I do not always hit the mark with presents for my wife, but this time I hit it out of the park.
The book format was easy to use, and read. Spiral binding lets it lie flat so I can use my hands for other things. In depth explanation of mediums helped me more than any thing else.
This book was recommended to me by a local artist. I was so disappointed in it. I was hoping to see some new interesting techniques, but no, just the basics.
Read and used better books. The pictures in this book are so low quality that it is hard to really identify what color you are actually looking at or wanting to create.
I've received the Acryliv Artist's Bible and it has really good info for a beginner like me. I am sure this book will be very helpful for me when I start painting .
This book explains the terminology and vocabulary exclusive to the wonderful world of acrylic painting.it truly is a bible!
The book is informative but seems a little old fashioned to me. The sample painting are not appealing.
