I know most of it but found a few terms I'd not heard, which, given the company I kept in Greece, surprised me. Still, languages change and, living in America, I'm always behind on UK slang. I would recommend using this as a phrase book.
I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes at some of these sayings. I am a beginner in Greek, but I know enough to understand the basic structure of the sentences. I can also read Greek, but have to look up many words. This book has many useful phrases that I will use and many that I might say in English, but never in Greek without being 100% fluent! It gave me insight into the fact that everyday Greek can be just as crazy as everyday English.
As a ksenos living in Greece for a few years, I can say the material is accurate and up-to-date. The presentation is a splendid blend of knowledgeable and fun. Use it as a reference, and don't imagine that you can get away with speaking this way unless your interlocutor pretty explicitly tells you you can. There are language levels that can take years, if not decades to figure out. Take reasonable precautions not to sort-of-accidentally call your mother-in-law a sow, or the like. It will not be forgiven. In conjunction with any contemporary Modern Greek textbook, this will fill in the gaps in the soundtrack where it sounded like "watermelon, watermelon."
Some of the translations were spot on, a few, not so much ......but overall, a very useful and helpful book !

Cute witty..fast delivery
Hilarious book. Not for beginners but will come in handy when I go to Greece and need to know some real Greek!
