This book was an amazing book and if one spends a good amount time on this book they will really benefit a lot in their SAT M2 exam. This book really showed the different types of problems that could come in the exam. I personally advice this book to any one who is going to take the M2 exam even if you think you are ready.
I really like the author’s ACT math book so I was happy to see that he has also written an SAT math subject test book. As I expected the book is very well written and provides high quality instruction. The way the problems are arranged makes it really easy to focus on the types of problems you need to get to the next level. Any strong math student that uses this book correctly should get an 800 on the test or at least very close to it.
Because this book is nicely arranged by topic and difficulty level, this resource is not only helpful in general… it is particularly helpful for students who are aware of specific weaknesses and wish to address those weaknesses in an efficient way. The multiple solutions, definitions, remarks, and notes for each problem truly help the student understand the basic concepts related to each problem. Understanding basic concepts is so much more valuable than simply going over sample problems.
The problems are ones that one will probably see during the test. The book also explains how to solve (by the way as fast As possible). This book helped me to get a near perfect score--780--on the test as an international student. Most of the topics were unfamiliar to me, sine we did not pass it at school. I prepared for about month and a half. Therefore, I recommend this book to everyone who is going to take ML2.
I got these for my 17yo son and with the help of his books and Dr. Steve, he went from 550 to 720. College is expensive, not getting into the right one even more so...these books are worth every penny.At the end of the day you get out of it what you put in so that is an important component but these books provide your kid with foundational expertise, structured thought and practice that is invaluable.
Great book with a good amount of tests of reasonable difficulty. Definitely representative of the actual exam. So if you are looking for some test problems, I defiantly recommend this book. I was given this book for my honest review. And honestly, I think it is a great book. I studied for the Sat, and this book really helped to attain a high score.
This book is amazing. I took the SAT Math II subject test once already, but I had to cancel because I wasn't confident about my score (700~760 range to be expected... cancelled for a chance to get a higher score).Pros: - Problems organized by difficulty - Realistic SAT Math II problems (Matches format and in level of difficulty) - Supplemental problems - Detailed answer explanations with alternative ways to solve problemsCons: - Answer explanations are right below the problems, with the answer often popping out.The only problem that I have with this book: answers glare in my face. I don't know why, but the answer in the parantheses always catches my eye, and I get a quick glimpse at the answer before actually solving the problem. It would've been a lot beneficial for me if the answer explanations were at the end of a chapter or at the end of the book. Other than that, very helpful, and I hope that this book will guarantee an 800 for me!Results will be posted May 21, 2015
