This LSAT study guide was a good read and good prep material. Unlike some other guide, this one explains what is required, how the test is broken down and gave useful advice. The problem I had with this study guide is, they author would wander from the topic and would contradict his analysis. There's also a practice session, but instead of having the answer key immediately after the practice question, it was at the very end (with a book it may not be a big deal, but with digital book, it's a pain)
Teaches tricks and has good practice tests, but MUCH better books to learn how to take the LSAT are out there. This is good for an average or mediocre score because of the basic fundamental training skills on answering questions. Don't rely entirely on this, though. The LSAT is not the SAT.
It takes a lot for me to write a review of a product online. I'm usually a lurker who is content to trust the reviews of others. This one really irked me. The book itself wasn't great (there are way too many typos, as others have pointed out), but what really upset me was the seeming impossibility of accessing the additional tests through Princeton Review's website.Upon registering the book, the user has to jump through a series of hoops to ensure that the browser "meets the minimum requirements," including installing Adobe Reader and Java, and disabling popup window prevention. Since Java doesn't run in Chrome, I switched over to Firefox, which PR assured me works best with their system. I was told that an untrusted applet prevented the launch. I tried it in Edge (I'm running Windows 10) and in Internet Explorer, all to no avail. I would be very surprised if someone who doesn't work in IT (as I do) would be able to get this working.Again, I think I got a lot out of working the practice tests included in the book, but considering that 4 more are promised online, the purchase came up far short.
This is my second LSAT study guide from Princeton Review, but the first one is locked in a storage over 1,000 miles away from me so I had to get another one. I am always pleased with Princeton Review's products.
Good review, but lots of typos. Since LSATs are tested on an "attention to detail" manner, every little editing mistake made me a little anxious. The test is good to quiz yourself over the broad areas of the test. I just think they need to proofread it better...
The authors of this prep test book have not made any significant changes to the actual text addressing the reading comprehension section of this test; rather they have literally published the same information year-after-year. Furthermore, this current prep test book is too wordy, imprecise, and they constantly drift away from the subject matter. Moreover, the authors of this prep test book adhere to using words and phrases the average person needs a dictionary and thesaurus to understand. Hence, their imprecise approach reduces the intensity and effectiveness of their writing.Basil R.Loucas
After reading only a sample, I'm hesitant to purchase a study source that contains errors particularly where example test questions are being discussed. Also don't agree that using process of elimination is necessary for every arguments question; that seems like it would waste time. I'm sure there is value in this book in other regards, but I'll keep shopping.
