A good material study for your AP exam in 2016. This book outlines American history in a chronological format and gives example questions. Although the example questions are not in the format that will be found on the exam, the writer's do a swell job in outlining and giving you information to use for your exam. Best of luck!
As an APUSH student this is perfect!! If you are buying an AP review book make sure it has at least one practice exam included. This book has three, explanations of all answers and a rundown of the info needed for the exam, which isn't too elaborate or sparse. Aiming for a 5!!
This book is really good. Explains things good but some dates are incorrect. This book claims Hitler died May 1, 1945 that is incorrect he actually died April 30, 1945. Secondly it says Japan surrendered one day after the bombing of Nagaskai. This is incorrect as Japan surrendered 6 days later. Nagasaki was August 9. They did. It surrender August 10 as this book claims but in reality it was August 15.
This is the perfect study tool to accompany you on your way to aiming for a 5 on the AP test! I love the mini quizzes at the end of every lesson that help you retain your knowledge and the diagnostic exams are amazing.
Honestly, I think reading this entire book is not the best way to study. It is very long, boring, and overwhelming and goes into much more detail than I think is necessary. That being said, this book was still very helpful. I read the short summary and terms at the beginning of each chapter and flipped through the timelines at the end of each chapter to get a general overview. I also read through the glossary to learn people, events, etc. I'm sure some people could benefit from reading every word, but for me it was nearly impossible to pay attention for more than a couple pages at a time. I think it was much more beneficial to get a general overview from this book and then watch Crash Course videos on YouTube for the details.
These books are so helpful. I used this 2-3 weeks before test day, and I can proudly say that I got a 4 on the exam!
Excellent resource for my daughter. It was recommended by her teacher, which they would have told us sooner. Would have purchased this day one for her.
It's a nice book for review; only issue is that it doesn't have distinct time periods blocked and that makes it harder to study and plan out goals.
