This ASVAB study guide is very thick. It is a very thorough book with lots of information and practice tests. There are a lot of details about the test itself - why you take it, who should take it, what is on the test, what the time limit is for each section and number of questions per section, etc. It also explains the scores and what score you need to get accepted. The first section is about Science and gives you about 50 pages of information to study for that section. There are 15 practice test questions and an answer key. It would be helpful if there was an explanation to the answers so you would know why that answer was correct in case you missed it. There are about 15 pages of Arithmetic Reasoning information to learn/go over. Then, there are 15 practice test questions for Arithmetic and an answer key. Next, is Word Knowledge section with about 7 pages of information and 15 practice test questions with an answer key. Paragraph comprehension is the next section with 12 pages of information and 15 test questions with answers. There are 14 pages of Math Knowledge with 15 test questions and answers. Electronics Information is next with 17 pages of information and 15 test questions with answer key. Automotive and Shop is next with 29 pages and 15 test questions and answer key. The next section is Mechanical Comprehension with 10 pages of information/details and 15 practice questions with answer key. Assembling Objects has 1 page of information and 10 practice questions with answers. After that, there is a part of the book called Test Your Knowledge. This is a practice exam that includes all sections of the test. It says that time limit for each section (total is 149 minutes) and the number of questions per section (total is 225). There are questions for each section with an answer key. There are 4 total practice tests with answer key for each section. There is a conclusion which mentions each branch for the Army and their requirements.This is a very detailed book which is helpful in studying for the ASVAB. I think it has all the information needed to study for it and includes 4 practice tests plus some extra questions with each section. This is a great thorough study guide and I highly recommend it and think it would really help improve your score if you go through all of it and take all 4 practice tests.* I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
I am a military wife, and my almost 18 year old brother is looking to join the military (following my husband). I think that as great as that is, he really needed to prep himself to ensure he would have a great career and start off on the right foot.My brother is basically a genius is math and has a lot of background in the area that has to deal with mechanics and car parts or whatever. I wanted him to be able to be well rounded in all of the areas. This book has sections on all of them and it allows for more comprehensive studying.The science section is by far the longest section in the book and covers EVERYTHING â stuff you totally would have forgotten learning about (like meteorology and geology). At the same time, this book doesnât dwell on stuffâ¦no long winded intros or just a huge list of terms. Just, this is what you need to know, and done. The science section is also special â it has practice questions at the end of each section, which is helpful because all that science can feel straight up daunting.The other sections shouldnât be discounted either. The AFQT score sections were helpful but I feel like that stuff is pretty basic so it was the other sections that helped relax my brother a little bit more.He has yet to take ht ASVAB but I will update my review when he does, I already know this book is doing wonders for his poor study habits.I purchased this product at a discount for me to test and review. I received my ASVAB Study Guide 2016-2017 By Accepted, Inc.: ASVAB Test Prep Review Book with Practice Tests 2nd Edition and the first thing that grabbed my attention was that it was the newest edition for this year, I purchased this because my brother is trying to join the military and having a difficult time achieving a decent score on the ASVAB. In school he was never a good test taker so when he went down to MEPS to take his test he scored too low, so I researched trying to find him the perfect assistance without having to pay 60/hour for a private tutor. What I love about this book is it has an abundance of practice questions that will help him ease his mind when it comes to taking the actual test again.
