I bought this as a study guide. It is very thorough on the materials necessary. The online tests were very helpful to me in regards to setting me up with the proper format and terminology. I will be taking this exam soon and will update my review then. I've scored an 86% and higher on all of the practice tests, so we will see if this knowledge and studyguide has properly prepared me. There is not a Q&A section for this listing yet so I was unable to ask questions about how the content of this material matched the content of the actual exam. I will be sure to include this information on my updated review.UPDATE:I took my exam today. For the most part the exam was about applying what we know into scenarios that we would come across in the classroom.With that being said. This book was little to no help in regards to the mathematical section of this exam. I highly suggest digging out your old text books for that subject.It was good for the other three sections of the exam though and served well, though half of the information located in the practice tests was useless.
This book has a lot of information but it is not what is on the test. NOr are any of the questions close to what is on the test. The book also has many typos. I gave it a 3 star rating because while I did learn many aspects of material needed, it truly does not match the test. I would NOT recommend relying solely on this book to pass the test.
I bought the book to retake the English/Reading portion of the exam. The rest of the test sections were similar to the material found on the GK exam. The book was good as reference material. There are several definitions and practice tests so you can become familiar with terminology and concepts. Please understand that the actual test is application of the material. The practice test will give you foundational knowledge, but the actual exam will require your critical thinking and logic.
The information in this book is overwhelming and not organized. For example, in the Social Science area, it jumps back and forth between time periods which makes it so confusing and difficult to understand. I would not recommend this book. I've been using study guides from the Internet instead and which I would have purchased a different study guide.
Great book. You can pass the test with this book combined with other study books, and youtube tutorials, not modules (modules online are outdated). This book is current and the lay out is simple to comprehend.
I just took the exam and passed all 4 sub-tests. The material does not cover everything that is on the exam. Some of the questions and concepts I had never seen before. You have to be able to eliminate answers and critically evaluate the questions by looking for specific words in the test. If you can do this, you will pass. Good luck:))
