I purchased this book for my daughter who wanted to join the Navy. She took an ASVAB pretest and did okay, but knew she needed a higher score for the job she wanted in the service. The review book is huge, more than what she could cover in the time she had. Instead she focused on the subject matter that her recruiter told her were important for the desired job. When she took the test she raised her score 29 points. Her recruiter was very pleased and wanted to know what book she had studied from so he could recommend it to others who would be taking the ASVAB.
I bought this book to study for the asvab, and while it contains a lot of information, I have noticed more than one error on the questions versus the answer provided. For example, on page 296 question 2, the question asks about a 60 ohm resistance, while on page 298, the answer states that the question asked for 60 kilo-ohms. I also noticed misprints like this in the diagnostic test.
this is the worst thing ever! for the math problem, question with inclusion of number will not show the number. for example, on number 10. in the first math section, "A student finishes the first half of an exam in [...] the time it takes..." the [...] is actually number 3/4 as I researched on google. Basically, all numbers (such as 3/4) in the math question section appear as in nothing!.Also, lots of the answer keys are wrong!!!!!!!!!
I bought this book with the hopes of getting a higher score. There's nothing in this book I met on the test day. The difference is like Texas and New York apart. I had such a low score that it couldn't get me a job, I had to go and do apprentice job a year and look for a job in the navy. From the instructions in the book, the number of questions per area of test, all are wrong. Authors got to change the entire book, I guess they don't update the book. Owners and authors, please stop leading people the wrong way and get them the right updates. I fully don't recommend for anybody. I should sue you guys in future. I regret getting that book. Wasted my time
I bought this awhile ago, and so far, so good. I took my practice ASVAB and I got a decent score (Average) and I am doing what I can to bring my score just a bit higher. Every chapter has a practice test, and you also have additional full length practice tests to make sure your on the right track! This has kept me busy, and although I still struggle with Math, this book is worth the buy!
