I took a political science class to fulfill my liberal arts requirements (I'm a science major), so political science is not my forté - but I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. It presents the material in a very interesting way and is easy to read. I learned a lot about American (and international) politics. I rented the Kindle version and read it on my iPad. The Kindle version is identical to the print version in formatting, which I appreciated.
Best price for this edition. I need a 11th one for a cheap price. Only expensive ones exist so I had to get this one. This book and my quizzes are not related by up to 25% of every chapter. Always several questions that is not in book. If you had to pick a book that is inaccurate but cheap versus extremely accurate but 65 dollars extra, I would pick the cheap option. 3 stars only because Im not doing so well with my quizzes. Saved money though.
My daughter needed this for class, I rented the kindle edition for her. She would rather read the actual book than the tablet but I convinced her to get this(that and I was paying for it) along with another books she was going to need. Turns out the Kindle version was actually easier to make notes in, highlight and lighter to carry around.
DON'T BUY THIS BOOK FOR THIS PICE!!! IT DOES NOT COME WITH AN ACCESS CODE. IT IS A RIP OFF AND YOU CAN GET IT FOR A BETTER PRICE. I PAID FOR TWO DAY SHIPPING TO BE READY FOR MY CLASS AND NOW I HAVE TO RETURN THE BOOK AND START OVER!
Politics still bores me even if the book is written well. It just wasn't good enough to cause a change in my interest in it even if the reviews say otherwise.Book arrived in perfect condition. Happy with the shipping process and duration.
I am very well pleased with the service of this seller. I bought the pols. book, "We the People." The description said new and still in the plastic and the book was exactly like it said. It was shipped within two days just like the description promised. I also would like to add the price of the book was just "AWESOME"..... it would be hard buy this book used for what I got it new.
I bought this for my American Government class. The author does a good job trying to be fair and balanced and presents the facts without bias. It is not as dry and boring as some text books, especially considering the subject, and a few of the chapters didn't even put me to sleep. That's about all you can ask of a text book.
Have to take this class to meet requirement for masters in education. This book makes me sick to my stomach it is so biased. As an adult who has lived through some things he wrote about, I know he has made some absolutely false statements. This book is not to teach poli sci basics, it is to skew its readers to a certain political party. You can't talk crap on one president's decision in the first chapter and then glorify another president to the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. in the next. It is despicable.
