I bought this for a class I had to take and the book is really simple to read and go through, however, its a nightmare with the statistics they are all over the place. I do like that its put together well, in terms of categories and gives some good insight on certain things but its definitely not anything scholarly or wonderful you would want to go through again.

I like it a lot. Looks very nice but, there is quite a lot of Highlighter markings in the text. Probably wouldn't of bought it if I knew that. But I love the book was fast shipping! and its what I need and it will still help me!! Thanks!

I don't believe my college actually uses this as a text. Considering all my other criminal justice/administration of justice classes hasn't really used a text I was hesitant to buy this. My professor assured us that we'd need this book so I bought it and expedited the shipping. I opened up the book and within the first paragraph it cites Wikipedia. Honestly, the author, Ronald Hunter is a joke. I can't even believe an editor approved it. Right after that I stopped reading it. I wish I read it because my first test was all about the book and I'm pretty sure I bombed it. My professor doesn't even really teach, he showed us an episode of Andy Griffith as a lesson. I guess I'll be reading this useless book for the rest of the semester, at least it's almost midterms.

Lots of writing going on in the book along with smiling faces and sad faces. Lots of corners folded that had to be unfolded as to not confuse me on where I left off. The book was very distracting with all the writings and pictures on it. Most of the writing was not note taking but more of the persons opinion of some of the topics.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. I glanced over the reviews on this site before purchasing but did not give them much credence based on their arguments which are pretty lame. Complaining about shipping and the teacher of their class. That kind of argument should be reserved for ratemyprofessor.com As for the book it is well written. Very informative and covers a wide range of topics to include some I also learned in my American Government class which is totally in context. I trust anyone reading this will have seen that the other two reviewers, to include Wong, are not reliable and will be able to purchase confidently based on this sound review. The only complaint I would have about this book and what kept me from giving it a 5th star would have to be the material is kind of dry. It is not a complaint on my part by no means because I would rather have the material cleanly served to me up-front but most people prefer it to be sugar coated and to include lots of examples. If you are reading this review you have probably been assigned to purchase this book so no review is going to sway your decision but purchase confidently.

What a joke of a book. It's overpriced just like every college textbook rip off, and taking advantage of students already in debt. The sources in this book are very stupid to sat the least.

the subject is outlined and discussed in a clear and easy to follow manner. The customer service was great as we received the book with about 5 days of placing the order. Great experience

I passed the class, unfortunately my dog liked the book a little more than me and because of a few holes, missing pages and a dismembered binding, I couldn't resell it.
