God Seed: Poetry Of Christopher J. Scarver

The book is a poetic vision of the world as seen through prison walls. Christopher’s poetry describes his journey from despair to hope, from mistrust to finding the good in others. His purpose is to earn an education and create a second chance for those who want one in the current American prison system. Christopher J. Scarver was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 6, 1969. Over a period of 18 years, Mr. Scarver earned his way out of solitary confinement where he was placed 20 years ago (1994). For the past two years he has lived in a medium security prison without incident. Mr. Scarver spends his leisure time writing songs, music compositions, short stories, poetry, and prison policy proposals, as well as creating original art. He desires to attend college for mechanical and electrical engineering partially through his initiative called The American Prisoner Repatriation Act (APRA).

The author has murdered at least three men, most notoriously the serial killer and cannibal Jeffrey Dahmer, but he has educated himself in prison, found religion, and written three short books. The poems in these volumes are generally -- perhaps mercifully -- brief. They range in theme from identity and memory to inspiration and pain, and they vary in quality from emotionally honest expression to cliché-ridden doggerel.Scarver was recently interviewed by the New York Post and told a reporter that he beat Dahmer and another inmate to death because was disgusted by Dahmer's horrific crimes and by his lack of repentance, but that own crimes were a result of his poor diet, which is the flimsiest and most dubious excuse I can imagine. I suggest you sample some of the poetry by clicking on "look inside" before you spend your money on it.

Interestingly provocative. With age comes wisdom which is expressed very poignantly. There's "food for thought" contained within these pages.
