Ripped it apart and framed it and can't believe how lovely the pages look behind glass and mats. Cheap frames form Ikea spray-painted gold give these the presence one would not ascribe to pages torn out of a book.
I bought this for my daughter, who is a high school art teacher, on her request. It was accidentally sent to me instead of her, so I got a chance to look at it before giving it. Wow! I can see why she wanted this book to share with her "fibers" students. How beautiful! I'm sure that the students were inspired by the luxurious drawings - three of her ten students who qualified for the state art competition received gold certificates!
i had high expectations for this book and it far exceeded all of them. i have a weakness for beautiful books and this one certainly satisfies. excellent quality and perfectly organized - a must-have for anyone's collection
I had seen this book advertised in a magazine & loved the prints. I bought the book with the intent to frame & hang some of the prints but the book is so lovely, I changed my mind. Very happy with the product.
This book is wonderful! It contains a truly beautiful and varied collection of vintage illustrations. It is a perfect coffee table book, gift, source for artistic inspiration, or wall art project (if you are willing to take some pages out). The binding and paper are high quality as well.
I got this book when my daughter was around 18 months. It has detailed, realistic images of plants and animals, including their insides. Very interesting, for people of all ages. Note, there is little or no text or labels, so you have to look elsewhere (wikipedia, biology/botany textbook) if you want to know more about what is pictured. This book is a fascinating goldmine of education, art for framing, or simply a beautiful coffee table book. It would make a great gift for people that love art or nature, for decorators, parents, seniors, or for yourself. I recently saw a collection of 6 identical minimally framed prints in the mid 200's on a popular decorating site. My only difficulty will be choosing which side of the page I will frame because so many of my fav's for framing are back to back. But there are at least 25 full size suitable for framing so I don't anticipate a problem..
If you love old chart art, this book is fantastic. Nice selection of floral subjects as well as others.The black background makes the art work stand out. The flowers are beautifully rendered. Would be great to take a few pages and use as wall art if you didn't mind dismantling the book.
