If you have an autistic child, love an autistic child or work with autistic people, I highly recommend this book! I have followed his facebook page, from which this book was born, for quite some time. He writes in ways anyone can understand and offers user friendly advice for those of us living with those on the spectrum. I even boughtmy daughters special education teacher a copy. She also follows his page and is thrilled to have a copy to add to her resource library.

Autism Discussion Page has become my number one choice of Resource that i suggest to Parents, Families and Individuals living with Autism. Bill Nason understands Autism like no other. His amazing insight, understanding and clear suggestions makes his books the Autism Bibles among all books. If i was gonna buy one book or connect an Individual to one resource, it would be any one of the Autism Discussion Page Books. This book is a great book for anyone who truly wants to understand Autism like a pro.

I've read this book and the green one from front to back. I have post it tabs and notes and highlighted sections throughout. There is so much valuable information on each page in an easy to read, easy to understand format! I have learned so much about the brain of my autistic grandson and the way he processes (or doesn't) information from the world around him. I recommend this book as well as the green edition for anyone looking for understanding and support about the autistic world. These books have helped me tremendously in preventing many meltdowns and have given me not just knowledge but strength in dealing with everyday issues. I am purchasing more for the therapists who help with my grandson.

This is a ground breaking book for anybody who parents, cares for or teaches a child, teenager or even a young adult with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Absolutely brilliant book, and with Autism diagnosis being on the increase worldwide including a huge spike in girls and women being diagnosed now it could not be more needed or timely.I have Asperger's Syndrome and was diagnosed as an adult at age 41, I have a teenage son with Asperger's and work as a Job Coach/Trainer and Advocate for adults on the Autism Spectrum, I have studied in the field also. Why do I share this? Well, because it's always interesting to read books about Autism when you have Autism, you can pretty quickly weed out the good from the bad. We are tough critics! This book is in the top of the line category.I have been a fan of the author's Facebook page for a long time, this book has come from many requests from followers, parents, carers who have asked for all of the information and advice that goes on Facebook to be in a book format for easy reference. It's a book you can read cover to cover, dip into or just search for what you are looking for.Bill writes really clearly, no "psychology speak" that baffles the average reader here, it's extremely easy to absorb and understand. He covers a range of important topics surrounding the support and understanding of children with Autism.I applaud Bill for his positive approach to listening to, and entering into the world of the Autistic Child, this book represents what most Autistic adults feel - that we don't want to be changed, we just want to be understood. Children are no different. Autism means the brain is wired differently, like picking up a different radio station to others, but it's a world that can teach so much if you are willing to listen.I have read LOTS of books on Autism Spectrum Disorders most of them are not really that helpful, I wish I had this book in my hands when my son was very young and I was scrambling to find meaningful and practical information on how to understand and help him. This book is GOLD, pure GOLD for parents of children with Autism. I can't recommend it enough. It really is a Toolbox as the title says, bits and pieces of information on everything you need to know including understanding sensory issues, obsessive and focused interests, entering alongside your Autistic child in their world and so much more. Excellently written to make it so much easier for you.Bill has perceptively entered the world of those with Autism and so powerfully supports a positive experience for parent and child. Some books on Autism can be bleak and depressing in their focus but not this one. Lots of positives and encouragement for those in need.I will be happily promoting this book within the Autism community that I am part of, I know many parents who would get huge value from this well put together and written book that actually may make a different rather than just being words on paper. Grab it, read it, put it into action.Remember, Autism - different not less.

I have met Bill personally as I am very fortunate to live in the area where he has a practice. My son was coached by him in soccer. His wealth of knowledge on the subject is vast but more importantly, he values and cares about the kids. He truly wants what is best for them and for us as parents. I first started following him on his Facebook group in the early days. I remember thinking I wish I could remember all of these great points. I started copying and pasting them into Word so I could go back when I had more time. I was so happy to see when he planned on the book where everything would be in one place! He is well deserving of any praise. These books are wonderfully reasonable in price so all can access the helpful advice. Don't hesitate to order.

As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum I have taken over 2000 hours of autism training classes and have bought countless books and DVDs on autism intervention. Without a doubt, "The Autism Discussion Page" books are some of the best autism education/intervention resources available. These books are a must have resource for parents/caregivers, teachers/school administrators, therapists, psychologists, social workers, and any other individuals who interact with and support children on the autism spectrum. Parents, I highly recommend you buy a set for the school team and use it as a tool to communicate key needs throughout the school year.

Bill has an amazing understanding of autism and how to relate and cope. Best book on autism I have read. That's been quite a few. If you care for someone, know someone or have autism. Read this book!!

The Autism Discussion Page on Facebook is my 'go to' resource of all things autism related. It shares in depth knowledge gathered from being in the field for many years. Highly recommended to add to your library of autism related books. In fact it should be the start of your library: the compassionate writing by Bill Nason is encouraging for parents, teachers and other professionals and answers all questions you could possibly have regarding dealing with kids on the spectrum, including their anxieties and sensory issues.
