In his own time he was hailed as a redeemer, a "Black Moses." Though he failed to realize all his objectives, his movement still represents an attempt at liberation from the psychological bondage of racial inferiority.

Most people have very wrong impression of this historical character. Read his philosophy as an adult, without the comentary from anglo-biased created history books we all read in public schools, then form your opinions about racial conditions in America and the world today. You might be surprised how much ahead of his time Mr. Garvey proceeded.
Marcus Garvey is one of the most influential leaders for African liberation from the hold of systematic white supremacy and his philosophical stance is tremendous and empowering!
