The author spent about half of the book engaging this reader in the context of the TV show, "Charlie's Angels", of the 1970's. I think too much background stalled my interest, but did not quench my search for more information about Ferrah Fawcett. This book did not yield sufficient information about this woman as a person.
Brings back the year 1976 in all it's glory where the "planets seemingly aligned" and I not only remember the iconic swimsuit image, her role in the movie "Logan's Run" (which I seen at the movie theater that same year) but her first and only year on "Charlie's Angels" as well. I must have owned the t-shirt with her in that swimsuit for well over a decade until it was faded and threadbare, yet I never did really follow her career after 1976 tho I do remember her one-time husband Lee Majors in the "Six-Million Dollar Man" quite well. Had a couple of passages that made me laugh as follows' She received a half-million letters from young women, saying in effect, "I'm twenty-six, and I thought I was over the hill." ' and "ABC figured women would tune in to see what the angels were wearing while men would tune in to see what they weren't wearing." Book mentioned a few movies of hers I might be interested in viewing after long last including "Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfield Story" , "Poor Little Rich Girl" and "The Apostle" (last but definitely not least). Not a bad book overall for reliving some memories from the distant past.
There is no mention of her starring role in Robert Altman's Dr. T & The Women or her memorable appearances in Playboy & on the David Letterman show.
This book was a disappointment. Way too much time was spent on the progress of women's rights. Farrah's role was not that significant. This section was mostly an analysis of Charlie's Angels' role in women's liberation. I read the to understand Farrah as a person as well as her impact on society. Of many Charles River Editors biographies I have read, this is my first disappointment.
They had some facts wrong, but I enjoyed it. Anything about Farrah Fawcett, I will always enjoy.
Thank you I love my Farrah fawcett book she was one of my favorite actresses with Marilyn
Nice book, but only a few photos, and the writing is so small, it's hard to read. It would be better with bigger writing, and more photos!!!!
