I've read the other 2 Babe Walker books, and this by far is the worst. The other two were very funny and branched out a bit more. I read this one in a night. It still has the witty selfish humor that makes the books great but its a bit more on the softer side. I was really looking forward to this book since it has been a bit since the last one, but it fell short. I feel like it was written just for the sake of having a third book.
This book was good, but not nearly up to par with the other two Babe Walker books. I always look to Babe for some chic inspiration but in this book she seemed way too normal (and not the chic crazy Babe we all know and love). It was still funny, but not laugh out loud, tears in my eyes funny, like the two previous books. If a fourth book is written, I really hope she steps it up!
I wanted to like this book more than I did. The first two White Girl Problems books were hysterical, laugh out loud funny. American Babe, not so much. It's funny at times and a quick, light read. Definitely a perfect book for the beach. I believe the woman who was a part of the three person team that wrote the first two books is no longer involved. That might speak to why this book has a different feel than the previous ones.
I love Babe Walker. I loved the first 2 books, and I love this book. Some of the stuff she writes makes me actually laugh out loud, and if a book can do that to me, I'm automatically in love. I'm happy this book has set up an open-ended conclusion, which mean Babe will hopefully write another book in the near future. Can't wait!
The first book in this series was hilarious. Sadly, this sequel and the one before it have fallen short. I am struggling to finish this book- bored out of my mind but want to justify the $12 I invested. I'm sad to say- Babe is not fun anymore.
I LOVE the American Babe series, and I was so excited to get my hands on this one! As always Babe is hilarious, charming, and the perfect frenemy for every situation. You root for Babe no matter what--even when you're rolling your eyes at her--and I found myself laughing out loud more than once as I read this. A great read--highly recommended!
Very disappointed in this book. I LOVED the first two books...I was so excited for this book...and unfortunately within the first few pages I knew something was off. This is not the Babe Walker my friends and I have come to love (I have recommended the first two books to all of my friends). I don't know what happened with this book. Babe and Robert are no more because she got bored and that's about all you hear about him. Babe now curses nonstop...the F-word is her new favorite thing...it's actually quite distracting...and if you wanna play a drinking game where you drink every time she says the F-word...you'll be drunk by the end of the first chapter...it's that bad. The book is missing the magic that was Babe...it's not funny anymore...I didn't laugh until page 56. Yes, I actually looked at the page number and sighed. I only finished it because I was on vacation and had plowed through all the other books I had with me. If there is another Babe Walker book, I think I will get it from the library. Read with caution Babe fans...Babe apparently had a lobotomy and I think reading this book was more painful than having an actual lobotomy.
Ok, clearly not the same writer. Completely different feel. The first book I have kept and read multiple times when I just want a laugh, but this one has already been donated. Too bad, loved the character.
