Rebel Resume: An Outlaw Guide To Kick-Ass Resumes For Students & New Grads

The job market for new grads is tough, and it's going to be tough forever. That's never going to change. You have to make sure your resume is bulletproof, and guess what? Yours probably isn't. Most new grads get poor, if any, instruction on how to craft a resume that knocks employers on their asses and gets them a job. This is the no-holds-barred manual on how to do just that. Rules will be bent, sometimes broken, and conventional wisdom is shot to pieces. That's how it should be if you want to score a great job in today's economy. Here's a peek at some of what's inside. Q: Should you pad your resume? A: Yes, but carefully. I show you how. Q: What should you put for your objective? A: Trick question - you shouldn't include an objective. I explain why. Q: Should you put "references available on request"? A: Absolutely not. Never. I'll tell you why. Q: Should I include a photo with my resume? A: Yes. Every time. Surprised? I don't blame you. There's a lot of bad resume advice out there. This audiobook puts it all to rest and gets you on the right track to getting the job you want. If you want an advantage over 90% of the people applying for the jobs you want, buy the book. You won't regret it.

This guide was surprisingly useful. There were tips there I hadn't considered before, and I've been to a half dozen resume building workshops and at least twenty visits with a career coach.Read the "Look Inside" preview for a list of what he covers and his philosophy with this guide. The author is sometimes abrasive, and he knows it. I only mention it so you're more prepared. If you get a job from applying this guide, it will be well worth $10.

Many books on this topic simply cover the basics, but this is not one of those books! I love the crude humor and straight to the point ideas and advice. I found lots of great ideas. The author cares about us students and our future success. Worth the read!

Great advice, I followed it to a T! Why the low rating then? After changing my resume around as suggested, not a single job offer in over two weeks. I highly doubt it is because of how awesome my resume was.As a note, my previous resume worked perfectly fine; it got me accepted to many prestigious schools and got me a very lucrative position where I work now. I was looking around for a second job I could pick up in my free time.I got this for free, so no harm no foul I suppose.

It sets you apart in both the world's...and employers...eyes

I liked the straightforward, truth-even-if-it-hurts approach!! I'm re-doing my resume tonight. Josh, I will be buying more of your books in the future.Paul

This is a very straightforward resume book. It gives a lot a specific examples and advice the reader can actually use. It's the most interesting resume book I've ever read.

Things have certainly changed since my graduation and I wanted to learn to be more competitive and help my graduates do the same. I think this guide is a good resource.

Great book
