Great basic overall book about "reading and learning to read". This edition costs 1% of the latest revision and is an excellent source of essential information. I studied this book thoroughly for four months and passed the state reading certification exam with a high mark.
This is one of the most comprehensive and interesting books I had ever come across in my educational career. The authors not only teach the basics of reading instruction, but put forth a plethora of differing strategies/methods for application in the elementary and middle grade classrooms.
This is a great book for referencing if you are a teacher or preservice teacher teaching language arts. This book has so many great ideas and information from a student's point of view as well as professionals in the field. It is such a great resource.
I needed this book for a Literacy class for my education major in college. It did not come with MyEducationLab, but the book came within good timing and it came in the condition described by the seller. This book is really great! It has a lot of good information about how to teach children to read.
I had to read this for one of my graduate courses and found it be filled with excellent strategies for implementing successful reading instruction in the classroom. The issues covered provide insights into reading methodologies, research into reading instruction and methods that have proven useful in promoting reading instruction in the classroom context as well as factors for successful reading outcomes. The language used in the textbook is accessible and easy to understand. This is a great reading resource for both teachers and parents.
I got this book for my reading endorsement class and learned so much from it. Some of the material is basic stuff you would learn in college, but it also has new material and concepts/helpful hints for teaching reading in your classroom.
