I really enjoyed this book. It was one of my favorite textbooks so far in the BSW program. I did not find it dry- the material was interesting and useful. It was one of the very few textbooks I've kept and read cover-to-cover. The chapters are long, dense, and the print is smaller than most textbooks, however, the content was interesting enough that it wasn't "painful" to get through.
Very useful book. Not too bad a read, easy to use for reference on important practice and reference. I'm a senior and it's the only book I have cracked in my social work program. It's way expensive for the small soft cover, but after renting it I ended up buying it because it was actually worth keeping to use in the future and in my internship.
I bought this for a course in my MSW program. It is a good, easy read. I will not be selling this book back as I plan to keep for future reference.
Good book for social work students. Gives a good understanding of social work with families, children, and couples.
Very easy to read. Good presentation makes it easy to understand. Also, it has useful diagrams.
This was the book I needed for a class. It is in good condition.
I would prefer not to choose a star that translates as "I hate it" but this book is truly awful. There were times I laughed out loud. This was the consensus among my cohort. I apologize that I won't be more thoroughly critical, as I feel I should back my opinion with substantial evidence. I stopped reading this after the first chapter and I'm not willing to find and quote the examples. I really just wanted to let people know (as I wish I had known) not to purchase this new, if at all possible - rent or borrow or whatever alternative is available.
