It is strange that 8 out of 10 five star reviews were written on January 4th, 2012. I find this too much of a coincidence and feel that those reading the ratings must do so with a very large grain of salt. The tone of the reviews sound the same, and they seem to provide little information regarding the book! Buyers who plan to purchase any book based on the ratings need to read all of the rating carefully. Honest feedback is the backbone of and those who provide it are providing the community a great service.
There is more than one type of Leukemia and that is scary to me. I wanted and needed to know more when my niece was diagnoised. This book helped me understand the different kinds and how to deal with them. What is Leukemia? Also teaches you how important a second opinion is. Nutrition is so important and this book helps teach you how to eat properly.
This book gives an easy to understand guide to what is involved when diagnosed with Leukemia. I am a registered nurse & would of appreciated this information when I was diagnosed in Feb this year! I am giving the family a copy and would like to drop a copy into the doctors' surgery so the doctor could give them a copy when the patient is first diagnosed!I was told not to ask questions wait for the specialist. My appointment was in 2 months!!!!I now have an understanding.
It used to be that you went to the doctor, he told you what was wrong with you and you didn't question anything. Nowadays, patients are encouraged to inform themselves and become an active partner in their own healthcare. But there's so much information (right or wrong) about leukemia out there. It's good to have everything you need to know in one guide to take control of your health.
A very close family friend died of leukemia and I was too young to remember much so I was always curious to know what it was. I found this book had more than enough information to explain it to me and I was very greatful after I read it that I had bought the book.

I was a bit worried with this book that it would be all scientific language that I did not understand, I was pleasantly surprised as it was written so well that made it very easy to comprehend.
