I purchased about every book I could find in attempt to study for the National Registry's written test. This is by far the best one. It is the only one that really prepared me for the test. The affordable price makes it an even better deal. I strongly suggest this book to anyone studying for the National Registry.
I bought this on the recommendation of a classmate who used the EMT-B study guide from the same author. The test questions are decent. The explanations of the right answer are helpful. There are some mistakes (the preferred location for an IO for all patients is the proximal tibia not the distal tibia as stated in this book), so be watchful while you're studying.Formatting for Kindle is mediocre. The question and answer are not on the same page, but some of the answers stretch across multiple pages no matter what size the font. A multiple choice app would be have been better.
I have purchased several books to review and prepare for national paramedic certification. This is, without a doubt, the best one of the lot. It is quick and easy to use, comprehensive and up to date.
I bought SUCCESS! for the Paramedic (4th Edition) and EMT-Paramedic Interactive Flashcards Book (REA) (Flash Card Books) to help study for the paramedic written examination. I found both very beneficial to aiding me pass (1st time with around 80 questions [less is better if you pass]) for the written exam.Overall I would have to say that EMT-Paramedic Interactive Flashcards Book represents an easier version of the actual written examination test itself. The actual test is MUCH harder, but if you are struggling with concepts from this book's, consider those questions general areas of review you need to study. The questions have a more slightly global aspect approach and offer great explanations and rationale for each question. With only 350 questions it's a great easy review aid prior to taking the actual written examination, but may be to brief of a review if one is serious lacking in a given area.
This is a decent review of material that may be on the NREMT Paramedic Exam. I'm not crazy about the kindle formatting. However the questions and answers were a good review of previously studied material. Some of the information is out of date, but for the most part it is decent material. You can never study enough for this exam.
Don't let the "EMT" in the title fool you. A good number of these questions are for the Paramedic student (EKG's, medical dosages, IV usage, etc). Sure, some of the questions are for EMT level students, but there are enough Paramedic questions to make it pretty useless to EMTs.
I purchased this text while completing my Nursing to Paramedic bridge course last year. I found it insightful and helpful...just some things I did not need...but knowledge is good, right? It was a well written text and great for RN's wishing to get a Paramedic cert.
I just finished this book in less than 2 hours. The questions are basic and require little thought because 3 of the 4 available answers are quite obviously wrong. It covers some of the most fundamental theories of Paramedicine but that is about it. I believe that this book would be drastically insufficient to include in a study buildup for NREMT exams. I will be returning this book and will apply the $10 to a book that will further my knowledge.
