I failed my first Cast Exam and was very devistated so I bought the Cast Exam Secrets study guide and got a second chance to take the test and I passed. Great product and worth every penny.
This book seems to totally prepare you in taking the Construction and Skilled Trades Exam. The way that the topic was being presented, is good enough to have a grasp of everything that are included in CAST exams. It starts with the test taking tips which one should know before taking any test, followed by the Introduction. Its Introduction will give you a quick picture of the exam for it tackles the test format, exam scoring, the things that you need to know and do during the exam and it tells you as well on how you use this book.Since it may seems that all of the information about the CAST topics has been condensed here, it is advisable to not read this in one single sitting to retain its content in the mind of the reader. By just reading the Introduction, you would really feel the authorsâ concern to the reader that the author wants you to steadily acquire all of the knowledge and skills you need to ace the test.The topics are divided into four and they are the following: The Mechanical Concept Test, The Reading Comprehension, The Mathematical Usage Test, and Graphic Arithmetic. It also has the Appendix for the area, volume, and surface area formulas that would make it easier for the reader to remember the formulas. Remember, in mathematics, once you know the formulas itâs as if you already have a cheat for the exam. That is how important it is. Aside from that each topic was divided into subtopics that make it more uncomplicated. The author simplifies things and that is really helpful because complicated things to be understood should be simplified.Reading a pure text might bore the reader although it is very informative and this has 75 pages with continuous text from page 5 to page 80. That is also the reason why from the Introduction of this book, the author advises not to read it continuously because what is important for the author is for the reader to understand and retain the information that this book can provide. What is also good here aside from its simplicity and being informative is the practice test. It has practice test with answers and explanations per topic and it is good to take the practice test every after reading each topic. It will help you evaluate yourself if it has retained or not or if you need more or not, so this book is really worth every penny because of its content and its worth your time as well.
This was very helpful for my husband. It really helped break down the sections so that he could get a grasp on the styles of the questions the test asks. A lot of it he needed to be reminded of and it came back readily. However, he did say that the actual CAST test was more difficult than the practice questions in the book. Overall though it was still a good resource to get a grasp on the style of the test, the types of questions that would be asked, and a guide for understanding how to choose the correct answers.
Bought this book aced the cast test. This was very important just getting out of the military. I am ready to start my career with the best power company in the U.S.A. All I can say is study hard. This test was no joke!
