This guide is great! Not only does it force its reader to stay positive about the exam process, but it lays out a target study agenda that is easy to follow and not intimidating. It also deals very nicely with obstacles that are sure to come up when studying for and taking any major exam - sometimes there are questions you simply do not know the answer to. Instead of getting bogged down with the fact that you can't answer the question, or letting it upset your flow for the rest of your studying or test taking, this guide focuses on having the reader acknowledge their limits and flaws and move past them - if it is a difficult question, don't spend half your allotted time on it because the odds are that you probably won't answer it right anyways - move on to the other questions and hedge your bets that your studying paid off and you can answer three or four others correctly in the time you would have wasted on the one you would have gotten wrong! Tons of other great tips! Nice bold headings and short subsections make you feel like you are really covering ground when you read through it. Also, very knowledgeable about the Plant Operator Selection System exam and walks its reader through the exam step by step, including how the exam is scored. I highly recommend this guide for anyone even thinking about taking the POSS exam.
This study guide is quite good and helpful when preparing for the exam. It is very comprehensive and it seems to tackle all the topics that are included in Plant Operator Selection System Exam. This includes: Assembly, Mechanical Concepts, Tables and Graphs, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematical Usage. The information is being presented in a way that the reader will be able to relate himself or herself because it is so much more detailed and practical (which is a good thing). Explaining topics in an in-depth way doesn't mean that it is boring. The author just did his or her part so that the reader will not be confused on the topics. Aside from that this study guide is rich in practice questions. The questions are divided into each topic that is present in the book. That is a good thing because you will be able to assess or evaluate yourself per area. You will be able to know your strengths as well as your weaknesses.In addition to that is the five secrets to success, test taking tips and tricks, general strategies, and special reports on how to overcome test anxiety, retaking the test, as well as additional bonus materials. These things are really fantastic and is a great help in preparing for the test. This book is a complete package with its topics, practice test and tips and tricks. It is really made to ace the test. A very comprehensive book that is worth your time and money.
This is a very useful book that contains a lot of relevant material in one convenient format. The guide is well written and clearly laid out. Only the points that are important are included, so you donât feel as if youâre wasting any time. Thatâs important when shopping for a book of this sort. This guide is comprehensive without being boring. Itâs written in such a manner that itâs very user-friendly and easy to get through. So aside from getting you prepared, itâs also something that you could easily refer back to in future times. Overall itâs worth the investment.
This guide provides a pretty good preparation. It goes into explaining/recapping many of the physics & math concepts that are in the test. While it doesn't serve as a full teaching tool, it certainly helps to refresh everything for the Mechanical Concepts & Mathematical Usage sections of the test. I can't speak much to the Tables & Graphs and Reading Comprehension sections, as I didn't focus much on these, but I figure that they are likely similar.The practice tests are a nice addition to the ones you can download from the EEI website. It gives you another opportunity to prctice without going over problems which you've already seen & done. The one complaint I have here is that the Mathematical Usage practice test is nothing but conversions. It would've been a big help to have algebra & word problems included. Perhaps EEI didn't allow them to included those?Finally, the book provides some good general studying and test taking tips - how to eliminate some of the answer choices was particularly helpful. There is also a web address at the end of the book for additional materials.All in all, it was definitely worth the 40-some dollars I spent to help get a job that could make a difference of thousands.
The book is very good at developing strategies for taking the POSS. I was very impressed with the way the information was presented to the reader, (easy). I am fully prepared now for the testing.
Helpful book. Some of the material is similar to what you will see on the actual test. The material seems to be old when compared to the material on the test but this book does give you an ideal of what to expect on the test, some but not all material that is on test is covered in this book.
It really helped me a great deal. The guide had some really good advise on how was the best way to approach certain test sections that made a big difference on my results. It has real practice questions to help you get a real feel on what to expect. It helped me to be more comfortable with taking the actual test because it felt really familiar. I 100% recommend this program to anyone who plans to take a POSS for an upcoming job exam. You wont be disappointed. It will help you to increase your test scores.
I feel certain that it will be extremely helpful. The short concise way it appears to be written and the excellent diagrams explaining the different material should be beneficial; therefore, I give your product a "5" in its rating. Also, the practice tests should be a great way to prepare for the initial test that I will be taking.
