EDIT: When I posted this negative review, I immediately received 3 "unhelpful votes". I believe it is from the sellers in an attempt to bury my negative review. If you indeed found my review helpful, please mark it "helpful" so that this review doesn't get lost.Here is some background information. I've worked in a pharmacy for over 13 years, of which 9 of those years I was a practicing pharmacist. I've trained many pharmacy technicians, and met even more. I know a lot of them who have taken and passed the PTCB exam. I would not recommend this book as a study guide in preparation for the pharmacy technician certification exam.Here's what's wrong with this book:- There are a bunch of mistakes in the book. A quick browse in the section regarding drugs a technician should be familiar with, I found methyldopa and Lotensin misspelled. I didn't even have to do a thorough search for mistakes. I just flipped through this section and found two mistakes immediately.- This book wastes time teaching you remedial math instead of focusing on pharmacy calculations. Example: 4/5 becomes 4 divided by 5 = 0.8. Wow... if you don't already know this, you should consider looking for another profession.- This book wastes time telling you how to be a pharmacy technician instead of teaching you how to pass the exam. Let's face it. People buy these test prep books to pass the exam. They are not buying this book for tips on processing a prescription in the computer. Every pharmacy is different and every hospital is different. You cannot teach a student how to process a prescription without knowing what the pharmacy software is. And tips like, add the insurance into the patient's profile and fill/label prescription are not helpful. That is just obvious.
