This book is the exact same layout as the Gace Basic Skills of course the questions are completely different. Its a good study aid. I am not that great with math and didnt' study that area enough. So, I decided that if I didnt' pass it I would retake the math section. Everything that I had begun to practice in the math section was on the exam so you coould imagine how I felt not giving enough time to that section. And, I only gave myself 40 days to study. Use the book thoroughly. By the way, its the only study aid available.Update: I passed the reading and writing segment. I am taking the Math section over as it is my weakness. Overall, this is a really good study aid.
I took the GACE and passed on the first try. I think the book can be a little overwhelming with all of the information, but it's still a great tool to use.
There are a lot of mistakes in this book. But overall if you want the practice then try it. I get this and another and felt prepared for the tests required. Never look at the answer key because it is never right. Always look at the answers explained.
I've taken the GACE test and this book was a wonderful asset. I haven't received my scores yet, but I think that this book really helped me out. I would recommend this book!
I purchased this book a month and a half before my test. The book is well layed out and the information is very relevant. I would go so far as to say that this study guide is more rigorous than the test! I just received all three of my test results back two days ago...I passed all three parts! I did nothing other than study this book ( about five times over)!
This was much better than the competing study guide for GACE. The other was riddled with errors and seemed not designed for the test at all. This one was very much on target.
Xam GACE Basic Skills 200, 201, 202 is a much better guide than the yellow and black books. It gives questions and answers that can be studied and that can prepare one for the GACE exam. There are a few mistakes. The math part is good. I am not sure yet if the questions reflect those of the exam itself. But the guide does put one in the study and testtaking mode. There is still room for improvement. I finished studying the guide in 3 weeks. Now I am going back over the information before my exam. The price should not be so steep. Thank you.
Study guides from XAM are the best! I recently passed both my content exams using their guide. I'm now using this one and am confident I'll again do well on my exam. These guides cover test specific material in accordance to what is actually on the test and nothing else. They do so in a concise, step by step, easy to follow manner. Special focus is on the more rigorous covered questions. Actual test is easier than questions covered in study guide.
