I'm in the process of sending Barron's a nasty letter. But wanted to come here first. Got this book today, have looked at it for about 30 minutes and have already found two horrendous errors. I understand that typos happen, but incorrect answers in a practice exam book are unacceptable.page 117 - Q6 "Write 600,000,000,000 in words" -- Their A: six trillionpage 118 - Q38 Change 15.2% to a fraction -- Their A: 19/25 (Of course if 19/26 reviews of this book are bad and they think it's only 15.2% it may be why the book is on the market)Sticker price on this book riddled with errors is $18.99 a pop (I only paid $15, but it's a waste of the $15. I would have been better off spending $6 to get the free 55 page pdf on ETS printed and bound at Kinkos.)
This CORE review book got me all high scores on the CORE tests! The subject reviews were great with as much practice as you need, and I have to say the math review has all the new topics and definitely got me a higher score. The book is very well written and easy to use and it includes the new essay types. The practice tests are up to date and just like the tests I took.This was my first computer based test and it is a very different than a paper and pencil test. My test center was hard to find. You are constantly being watched! There is good advice about the taking the computer based tests and I know that made a difference in my score.This book is also very helpful because it is about the CORE tests, and not about the discontinued PPST. I actually did email the author of the book and he was very accessible and helpful. I think it’s a good idea. I give this book my highest recommendation.
This was a waist of time. I have only ever given one other book this low a rating. I cant believe this was of no help it was nothing like the exam. Based on the outcome you would think you are accomplishing something. Its a delusion.
The errors in this book are ridiculous! It is difficult to know if you have mastered any of the skills when you cannot be sure if the answer key is correct. Someone needs to go back and do some serious editing.
I started reading this book today. The Math section has at least 3 errors within the first 12 pages. And those are errors that I noticed. God knows about the mistakes on the areas that I need help with. How can I trust this book now?
Do NOT use this book to help you prepare for the Praxis! I had to put it down after reading three pages of the math practice. There are multiple examples of problems where the correct answer is not listed. There are also examples of repeated answer choices in the same question. Poorly-worded questions abound. Very frustrating to say the least. There are plenty of other books out there that have been edited.
This was a great study tool for the Praxis core exams. All three sections helped with giving information/knowledge needed for the test as well as having you practice the format of the test! I would highly recommend if you want to get high scores.
Good information about the test, but there are errors in the practice sections which makes it difficult to prepare for the test. I would look or different material.
