Often the participants in Aileen's workshops are successful project managers who may lack experience is specific topics on the PMP® Exam. I just passed the PMP exam today (3 Mar 16), and this was one of the books issued to me in a prep course. I completed all the sample questions in the book, and when I took my test this morning I was actually wishing there were more Questions about network diagram on the exam! I can't believe how confident and prepared I felt for the exam after completing this workbook.
I thought this book was extremely helpful. This book teaches you all about network diagrams and is filled with various questions and solutions that help you really understand network diagrams. It is helpful learning the material and then being able to test your knowledge with the questions in the book. After a few questions I felt that I was an expert at network diagrams. In addition to this book I also read Aileen's other books including:1. How to get every Earned Value question right on the PMP Exam2. How to get every subcontract question right on the PMP exam3. PMP Exam SimplifiedReading the PMBOK isn't enough to pass the exam! These books together will help you really understand the information and pass it the first time!
I passed my PMP exam a few days ago and all I can say is THANK YOU, Aileen Ellis, for these genius books! The explanations are very clear and the problems presented in the book are very comparable to the ones that appeared on the actual exam (mine, anyway). This, the EVM, and the contract question books were the best investments I made for my PMP studying.
I purchased strictly as a PMP question workbook to practice for the exam. It does the trick but for a small book with not a lot of content there shouldn't be misspellings and poor grammar. With all of the author's credentials, I expected more. Misspellings & poor grammar are just inexcusable. Also, the questions jump around topic...in this case network diagram. Suggestion would be to have 5 or 10 questions in a row on the same or similar area (free float, float, FF, FS, SS, SF, etc.) to really reinforce topics....as opposed to jumping from a PERT calculation to the definition of critical chain, to which path is the critical path.
Mrs. Ellis continues to provide outstanding materials that you can use towards your effort in studying for the PMP. I knew absolutely nothing about network diagrams. I am now more confident today than I was yesterday in solving these types of questions. Mrs. Ellis spent a lot of time explaining why the answer is what it is. The thoroughness of this manual is outstanding. If your studying for the PMP, you should arm yourself with this publication. You will surely be glad you did. Thank you Aileen.
I recently passed the PMP exam with the expert guidance of Aileen Ellis' trio of books: How to get every earned value question right on the PMP exam, How to get every network diagram question right on the PMP exam and How to get every contract calculation question right on the PMP exam.Each book is a quick read establishing parallels between theory and practice. The sample questions spanned the most basic concepts to the most complex. Utilizing Aileen's books give me the confidence needed to pass complex areas of the exam in a short period of time. I highly recommend these books to anyone requiring focus on these aspects of the exam.
Aileen's Network Diagram booklet really clarified the topic for me and I was delighted to have purchased and used it along with her EV and Contract volumes. Complete all of Aileen's exercises, and, as you work through the scenarios, all the concepts will get clearer and clearer. Buying all three volumes is an entirely worthwhile investment into your PMP learning.
I was given the books in a PMP® Workshop and I used it as a primary resource to help me pass the PMP® Exam. I passed the exam using the four books written by Aileen Ellis plus the PMBOK. I'd never done a network diagram before this book and I understood all the concepts after reading this book and the accompanying video. I felt very comfortable with my level of knowledge when I was done, primarily because of the video and all the sample questions.
