I purchased this book after I didn't pass my first attempt at taking the Pellet B. I can definitely assure you that you will pass if you first get this book before taking the test. I wish I would have done that in the first place.Pros: this book in my opinion has harder questions than the actual test but they are close to it. So it will definitely prepare you for the test. Also like how the answers to the questions are near the end of the book so your not tempted to look at answers. Also has a complete list of commonly misspelled words.Cons: there is only two practice tests. It would be great if there was at least 5 for better practice.
I took the exam 3 times and failed. I studied this book for like 2 months... Hours of studying everyday. And test day arrived. I got 50 instead of the required 40. I'm very happy I finally passed this test. Moving up :)
This guide definitely prepared me for the test. While most questions are multiple choice, the fill-in-the-blank portion would have caught me off guard. As a result, I passed the test with very high scores.
Don't waste your time. Purchase this book and study at least a month tn before if you want higher scores. I failed first try. Purchased this and studied 3 days before my exam. I passed, but my Tscore would have been so much higher had I studied for a month.
My cousin's son is considering moving to California and is interested in becoming a California police officer so I saw this study guide and decided to purchase. He has found this book to be comprehensive, organized, and contained numerous information, which was extremely helpful in organizing his thoughts and have a better understanding of what he might be up against in taking this exam. This guide also contains two (2) full practice tests to help prepare for the actual exam itself and he has been told that this will be extremely helpful when he takes the real exam itself. He is very excited to move to California and take the exam now that he has had a chance to use the study guide to learn more. This California POST Exam Study Guide was perfect. It was easy to read and follow along with. I understood it very well. It touched up on a number of topics, including reading comprehension, writing, CLOZE and reasoning. The guide had a number of explanations and charts and it was truly clear what it was trying to explain. As someone studying the material, I was very confident after using the study guide that my knowledge base increased as a result. The practice questions were great and really helped me understand the material better. I highly support the use of this book for anyone taking the California POST Exam Study Guide.
this test book is phenomenal!!!Each topic is broken down into specific questions. The book is also very easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to take the the POST Pellet B exam.
I got this book to study to take the POST exam for CHP. It has great insight and is short enough for a quick study I started studying a week before the test using this book and scored a 62. The 2 practice test are great however I do wish that they offered a 3rd or 4th practice session for the CLOZE part of the test. It also does not have a ton of information on how to improve on the CLOZE section and that is the only reason that I do not give this 5 stars.
