"Lotsa Matzah" is a short story about Matzah (unleavened bread), promoted for children ages 1-4. It starts out asking why matzah is plain and flat and a short explanation follows. It teaches children how matzah is used for the Passover and for the week after Passover. It also gives examples of what condiments people might put on matzah.I believe that this book will help motivate children whose families celebrate the Passover holiday. It describes what matzah is, why it is eaten for Passover and during the following week, and how to have fun eating it for a week. The illustrations made the matzah look yummy to me so I am wondering if children will also think it looks yummy. This is a book that families most likely might want to keep around for the Passover holiday each year. I can picture that it also might be read to large or small groups of children during Passover celebrations at congregations and schools.Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a free copy of this book from Kar-Ben Publishing. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I read this book to my toddler age (3-1) grandchildren during Passover. I felt this was an excellent introduction to the Passover Seder for very young children. The book is just the right length to meet the attention span of little ones. After reading the story we hid one matzah for each child. With the help of mommy or daddy they found their matzah which they were able to exchange for a special surprise.
This is a cute Passover-themed book with rhyming text. Or perhaps I should say, it's a matzah-themed book. The illustrations feature a charming cartoon family and are very clean and easy to enjoy. It's simple and sweet enough to be read year round.
This book is well written, has a nice rythmn and is a good jumping off point for talking to my children about Passover. I gave it 4 stars not 5 because I don't "love" it, but I do like it very much and would recommend it to others. It is a short book.
Quite entertaining -- rhyming text gives background to the story and the holiday that is celebrated each year. This book also explains the significance of the bread -- why it's plain and flat. Great short introduction for the young ones.
After being sick and tired of all the Easter books around, I ordered Lotsa Matzah from only to find it is one of my son's favorite books. Months after Passover we are still reading and enjoying it.
This book is adorable! A good book for little ones about Passover. Each verse rhymes, so it is very catchy!
Very cute book. We bought it for our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter but the 4 year old enjoys it too. She pretends to read it to her younger sister.
