Each section provides definitions, examples, and explanations to make all the basics, and then some, understandable. There's plenty here, including grammar, literature, and vocabulary--even a nice listing of Greek & Latin root words and affixes. The sample questions & answers are a good study tool as well. A very nice reference for teachers and LA students as well as those taking Regents.

Well worth getting for your son or daughter. My son said it was a tremendous help. He scored high 90's.

I love it. It's very rich in vocabulary and grammar rules.

Many of them - probably most of them - will be in front of regular past tense verbs or irregular past tense verbs, which forces the irregular past participle. Count them for yourself. Barron's doesn't get it and Barron's doesn't want to get it. But if you want to speak and write Standard American English correctly, you will need to understand it. It's one of the six basic English verb tenses, not sixteen or sixty, so be careful. Caveat Emptor.
