As a science major, I needed a good source for learning more about psychology and sociology for the MCAT. This book was comprehensive and understandable. I benefited from the presentation of the concepts and gained a familiarity with the concepts and have mastered the important components of the subject. I learned alot form using this book. My understanding of the topic improved and I can now respond to questions with both confidence and proficiency. I told several of my friends about this book and they also had a positive experience by using it.
Great coverage of a topic I was a bit uncomfortable with. The content is solid and reads well. The book seems to match well with the AAMC suggested topics for the psychology and sociology section of the MCAT. From this book, I was able to understand and process the topic. I needed a complete introduction and formal summary of the topic since I did not focus on this during my undergraduate years. Very happy with the learning that I achieved from reading the book.
My MCAT tutor told me about this book to prepare for the psychology and sociology components of the MCAT. I am strong in sciences (biology major) and good with biological aspects of psychology but I need a complete overview of psychology and sociology to be solid with this material. The book was detailed and easy to read. Great content and well written. Very happy I chose this study guide to learn and review both psychology and sociology for the MCAT.
Great content review for psychology and sociology. I like the book. It was full of important concepts in an easy to follow format. Learned alot about material for this section of the MCAT. I read and reviewed the book twice and I feel much better prepared with the material. A great source of this important topic for the MCAT. This book was a great investment of my time and money.
Very good overview of psychology/sociology topics for the new MCAT. This is exactly the type of material I was looking for. I am a chem major and social sciences were not the subjects I was interested in. This book helped me learn the necessary psychology concepts and organize my knowledge. Thank you, Sterling!
I need a good psychology and sociology review book because I didn't take psychology with thoughts of needing it for the MCAT. This book refreshed many of the principles and taught me many others. Book is easy to understand and the table of contents (I checked in great detail) has the same topics for psychology and sociology as listed by AAMC for the new MCAT. The book goes into detail but is well organized and clearly written. A nice balance between needed concepts and being understandable. The concepts I needed for the MCAT without extraneous content.
So happy the MCAT went well. I used several books from Sterling and all were great quality, spot on psychology review for the MCAT. Their general chemistry review material made me better prepared and improved my foundation skill in psychology as well as the nuance I encountered on the exam. I used the online material to reinforce my learning. Highly quality prep and content review material with high yield results. Glad my roommates told me about the books they used last summer when they were studying for the MCAT. This book is relevant to the essentials for psychology on the mCAT.
I am a post-bac at the Harvard Extension School. I graduated a few years ago as a biochemistry major and have been working in research for 2 years. I consider myself a strong student with a great foundation in the sciences needed for the MCAT. A few classmates of mine took the MCAT last year and recommended the Sterling Prep books. I used several of their products (along with some donated book from other publishers). The Sterling products are very comprehensive and covered the psychology and sociology component with great detail that was needed on testday. I just got my scores and I am very pleased with my preparation and the results that I was able to achieve. I recommend the books the MCAT.
