Highly recommended if you are looking to get your nose wet when it comes to the LSAT. I have been reading a few pages every ady and have been getting more and more confident about the test. As usual, great product!
My only regret is that I should've bought this book sooner. It was more helpful for me than was the logic game bible book that I paid quite a bit for.... Very understandable. Very relatable. Very helpful.
This book probably did more for me than any of the other books I used. At the very least, the facts about how the score breaks down and can be maximized made me feel better going into the test. That counts for a lot. It also includes tips and guides for the entire LSAC-backed application and admissions process.
I recently wrote the LSAT and wanted to actually review LSAT for Dummies because it was one of the resources I used. My two cents is essentially this, if you have lots of time to prepare, it can't hurt to read this book. However, I was on a fairly tight timeline (6 weeks) and found that of all the materials I used (Kaplan, PowerScore), LSAT for Dummies gave me the least "bang for my buck" in the sense of value for time. My top recommendation to any prospective test taker is to write as many of the Prep Tests as possible. I ended up doing 30 Prep Tests; I could have done more if I didn't spend time with this book. My three star rating is largely ranking this product RELATIVE to other prep providers (especially PowerScore). If you have time, this isn't a bad product for "overview" purposes but not something you want to rely on when its time is tight.
This is an okay book, but I highly recommend supplementing it with other books and/or an LSAT prep course. I did well enough to get into six of the seven schools to which I applied, but wish that I'd have prepared even better.
The information provided in the beginning of the book, including how to save time and work more efficiently, is all good information. It helped me answer questions more efficiently. HOWEVER, do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT DO THE "PRACTICE LSAT" SECTION IN THE BACK. The questions are incredibly difficult to complete and when you go to check the back of the section, the explanations to the answers are structurally unsound which leaves the questions impossible to complete and gives you the wrong answer in the end. When I went back to reread where the practice questions came from, I found out that they do not come from LSAT tests, but, rather, from the mind of the book's author.tl;dr: Good info and tips in beginning of book. HORRIBLE AND INCORRECT PRACTICE PROBLEMS AT THE END OF THE BOOK.
I am considering taking the LSAT and wanted a book that explained the test and had practice tests. Easy to follow and gives great tips! I loved it and would say that if you're not looking to spend a million dollars on prep material then this is it!
Good synopsis on the LSAT. I primarily use this dummies book to complement my Powerscore LSAT Bibles.
