I have used both Kaplan and Princeton Review books in studying for the MCAT exam, and by far the Princeton Review MCAT book is far superior. It is clear, concise and allows you to test your knowledge along the way. I have used this book to guide and focus my studying, as well as utilizing my college textbooks as an additional resource (just in case). This Princeton Review Bio/Biochem MCAT book tackles the majority (if not all) the topics the AAMC has documented as must know for test day. Good luck for anyone taking the exam!!Go to this link to check out what is on the MCAT exam: [...]
This book pretty much added a biochem and Molecular biology chapter to the old study material. I got the book to get the exams which you MUST register online to access. The question within the sections of each chapter are great and then the question at the end of each chapter are helpful as well. Each chapter usually has 7 freestanding questions and a passage with 7 questions. I have yet to take a practice exam but I feel confident with the material.
I recommend buying this product because you get 3 practice tests with it. Also, it is good review that includes some information that is left out of other review products. This will go good with your other review materials such as EK and Kaplan and Khan Academy. Use them all. I will say that the experimental techniques are best understood in your undergrad textbook or online supplements. MCAT costs money, buy to improve your knowledge before test day. Lastly, if you have no other material I would recommend buying the book that contains ALL of the material or a package set.
If you bought the biology book before from princeton review don't buy this one; its a waste of money. Only one additional chapter :-/
a thick book that will explain concepts very well and even has you think a little. I really like the question in between that add extra knowledge and can even help you understand what the main message of the passage was.
It's same as older versions, wish it has new passage based scientific and statistics based passage questions... good thing is the 3 free full length practice exams online...
