Do not waste your money on this book. There is so many errors it is ridiculous. Sometimes the answer key will be wrong, units off, and sometimes they miss the question in the answer key! There is far better prep material out there then this stuff. The questions are okay, but some of them are completely unlike what you will see in the MCAT. I dont usually write reviews but after reading through this one I felt as if it was necessary just because so many little things annoyed me about it. Buy something else.
This is an extremely poor study book. It's basically a list of all the topics listed on the official AAMC website without any insight on how best to study, or what might be more likely to appear on the test. Instead they basically list out the topics, and give you common sense/useless tips like guessing and eliminating wrong choices. You can literally get this information for free from the AAMC.Furthermore, the test questions are extremely mis-representative of the actual MCAT questions. When compared to official AAMC MCAT practice questions, Princeton or Exam Krackers, or even other Kaplan materials, the questions are too specific and feel wrong. Even worse, the full length exam they give you online access to is a copy of one of the exams already included in the Kaplan 7-book course! Literally everything is either copy pasted, or useless.Do not buy this book. If you need something similar, i.e. outline of the test and sample questions, I would suggest the official study guide from AAMC.
Only includes one practice full-length test, not three.
Not useful at all. Maybe for the practice questions but at that rate, you might as well get the actual AAMC products.The 'Kaplan method' for reading passages and answering questions seems like a complete waste of time and is not efficient at all. Exam Krackers wins this one every time.
I already had the 7-book Complete Review Set; I bought this book for the extra passages and to test myself by repeating the learning objectives. The text is littered with typos, errors in the answer keys, and reiterations from the other Kaplan review books. I would agree that these passages are more difficult, but good practice manipulating the relevant concepts. The actual strategies are very redundant and not very helpful. Ultimately, this book may not be worth your time unless you want extra practice questions.
It's just tips on how to take the exam. Good book but I think everyone has their own methods of studying and test taking.
It says that there are hundreds on MCAT questions and you should use online and the book. Online has a couple dinky videos and one practice test. Poorly described and a waste of money. Kaplan is a waste
This book is full of errors. The passages being harder didn't help for the MCAT only made calculations and thought processes longer. The MCAT tests for logic and good problem solving. Wording the questions weird and making the calculations longer doesn't test for that.
