I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that has ever gone through a trial in their life. In "He Chose Life: Nathan's Story" I saw how a family took a horrible situation and rallied together for the good of Nathan and their family. Each person in the family was a part of the care and love for Nathan. After reading this book, I know our Heavenly Father will always be there for you if you put your trust in Him. The author was able to write the book in a way to keep me reading into the night until it was finished. I feel this true story will be a definite builder of hope for all who read it.
This book hit home in so many ways. Most important, the book shows to the world how one can deal with adversity in a most positive way. I would recommend this book to all no matter what your personal situation may be.
I have loved this book. It has brought a new perspective to me as a father and helped me to understand what God wants for us in this life. Truly an amazing story of how quickly your life can change and how blessings from God come in ways we would never think.
This was an emotional read for me, as I have experienced tragedy in my family as well, and Mark's words hit pretty close to home. After crying through the first few chapters, I found that I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Mark is a gifted writer, and his words touched me deeply. This is not only Nathan's story, it is also the story of a special family, bound together by love and commitment to one another. What an awesome family!! -- Mark, Rebecca, Nathan, and his siblings. I feel like I know them all after reading this book. I love the picture of Nathan on the front cover of the book! What a sweet, beautiful child! I loved seeing all of the pictures of Nathan and the family over the years - the pictures also tell his story. What a special spirit he has, and what a great example he is to all of us! Thank you, Mark, for telling Nathan's story! This book is a must-read for all!
I am grateful for this amazing story about Nathan's fight for life which took a tragic accident into a book of faith, gratitude & overcoming life's challenges and adversities with love. I cried and could not put the book down as I read thru the details & feelings of this accident. I have complete admiration for each family member and their role in taking care, serving and loving Nathan. After reading this book I felt like I knew Nathan and the courageous and valiant spirit that he is. I strongly recommend this book to all readers who have plans in life but for some reason or another those plans don't work out and are forced to take different paths. Through reading this book I have learned that regardless the path we are sometimes forced to take, we can find the good and grow stronger from our trials. Reading and following the Peterson's positive example of family love, facing adversity and challenges gives me hope and strength in facing my trials.
I don't read often and I couldn't put this book down! The author did a great job in telling the details and recovery with this accident. It helped me see who Nathan really is and that everyone deserves to be understood for who they are on the inside.
The courage, strength and faith demonstrated by the author and his family in this heartfelt memoir is truly inspiring! Through his candid, thoughtful account of challenges, love and determination, Mark Petersen enables the reader to feel personally touched by Nathan's goodness and amazing spirit. This book reminds all of us about the importance of family, serving others and finding meaning through life's difficulties.
I couldn't put this book down, even knowing this family and this story ahead of time I feel that I learned so much about what is really important in life. Nathan is an incredible young man with a tremendous spirit and his family is truly an inspiration to me. My heart is so full, I would highly recommend this book to anyone!
