I received this book as part of the Vine review program. I have a Bachelor's degree from a state university, and have a daughter who will be off to college in 3 short years. I picked up this book looking forward to reading the up-to-date insider info and 800 tips promised by its authors Lynn F. Jacobs and Jeremy S. Hyman.What I found was a good book with some solid 'general' information for college bound folks who want to be the best students they can be as they continue their education after high school. While the authors say it's for all college students, I think it's a good book for incoming freshman who are eager to know how to do well academically. Good insights are shared and those who take the info to heart, should be successful at college.Ten chapters are broken down into general areas, with tips (lists of them...), interspersed with icons which are in fact, more tips and thoughts about the current subject.The icons include:- Extra Pointers- 5 Star Tips- Best Kept Secrets- Reality Checks- IOHO (In Our Humble Opinion)- Rule of Thumb- On the Web- Bonus Tip- Flash (late breaking info).Chapters of the book include:1.
