I had this book on my wishlist for over a year, and I finally got it for Christmas. I really didn't know what to expect. To be honest, I thought it was going to be dry, boring, and full of obvious advice found in textbooks. I started reading it the day I got it, with my intention being to read a chapter a night before bed. The problem is, I am currently student teaching and therefore very tired, all the time. I have a hard time putting this book down, even when my eyelids are closing. Yes, I could read the book in one sitting, but I want to savor it. I want to take the time to get everything I possibly can from it. _The New Teacher Book_ is well-written, beautifully narrated, and full of wisdom, humor, and insight. If you or someone you know is a new or soon-to-be teacher, this book is a must. You will not be disappointed. Even though I am not even half finished with it, I know that I will be re-reading this book over and over again.
I adore this book. I'm so invested in all of the stories and many of them resonated with me in my experiences. There are some new ideas within the stories and they have inspired me. I'm so happy I read this before my first year.
A lot of great practical advice for new teachers. Gave a copy to a niece at Christmas, who's a new teacher, she loved it.
Great condition. Also solid advice. However, at times the advice seems relatively un-realistic.
