This book seems like the best thing to help with the AP World History Exam. On the first page it gives numerous test taking strategies that were very interesting to read about, they even included why not using these strategies doesn't work as well. Then, it has a very nicely laid out textbook style area that includes World and European History. It is laid out in such a way that it reminds me of how we teach it (I co-teach) in World History. It includes 50 practice questions in the form of a practice exam, and includes detailed responses of what and why questions are answered correctly. I definitely think this book will help you to succeed in the AP World History Exam, and with all your other exams due to the test taking strategies. I do wish it would include some maps or illustrations to help with better understanding the history, but I understand that this is a review and not a textbook.*I received this item for free in return for a honest and unbiased product review. The book covers Pre-history to the 1400s,1400-1914, 1914 to present, and the Eurapean history prior to 1648 and after 1648. Excellent book! Each component of the book covers the basics needed very well. This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. I found that this book is even great for having before/during the course. That way, you can read and anticipate what the course is going to cover, and what the most important points of the subject matter are.The book has excellent formatting. The book is broken down into five parts:1) Quick Overview2) Test-taking Strategies3) World History4) European History5) Practice TestEach of the main sections (World History and European History) is about 20 or so pages long. It reads in sections, and covers the most important part of each, such as Reformation and Age of Exploration. What I like most about this book is that it clearly outlines what each part of history is what, and in a concise manner. For me, history tends to get jumbled with what happened when and how it plays a role in the grand scheme of things. It's very easy to get overwhelmed with so many names, time periods, and events. This book helps to give an overview without weighing the reader down with needless information. The content is an easy read, and an excellent study guide. The book is formatted well, and the content is laid out in a way that isn't overwhelming. On my copy, the page numbers had the ink half-printed, but it was still very legible. The binding is paperback, but yet the book is sturdy to easily be worked through. Answers are given in a concise manner at the end of the test. The answers are given with an explanation as to why/how that is the correct answer. It might help to make a copy of the practice test pages and then compare your answers. The book covered all the needed sections of the AP course.This book is an excellent guide, and very useful to help you study. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an overview of the AP course for studying!
When your a student sometimes a study guide is essential. Depending on the course of study a study guide could make or break your grade for that class, assist in your overall class promotion and help your grade point average. This World History Study Guide is for AP studies. It has 98 pages of information ranging from the Renaissance, World War 1, European Monarchs and Globalization. There is also a practice test along with answers and explanations for the practice test. The book also touches on helpful tips for test taking! My daughter has looked through this book and agreed that the book does go over what she has learned in school. She is satisfied with the summaries it demonstrates about the various events, people and places. She believes this AP World History Study Guide in addition to her notes and review through her individual class will help her reinforce the information she needs to retain for her upcoming test.
